short animation film: Onder rook en vuur (below smoke and fire)

Short animation film, made after a visit to Romagne in France. Smoking became an important part of the First World War, a moment of conviviality. "A shared smoke was a way of connecting in a disconnected world." For example, soldiers from different layers of society shared a cigarette together. The war caused a lot of change in the social aspect. Several factors played a role in this, but after the war the first steps were taken to the society in which we live now.
